Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) is a Trent Centre of Excellence specialising in the servicing of the successful Rolls-Royce Trent aero engine family. Starting operations in October 2001 SAESL has since serviced over 2,300 engines spread across 15 customers and three continents.
SAESL is a joint venture between SIA Engineering Company and Rolls-Royce plc. Employing more than 1,000 highly skilled technicians and staff at its facilities located close to Singapore’s Changi airport.
SAESL has an innovative gantry system that is capable of handling module change and module overhaul work for more than 300 engines per year and is the only facility in the world to have capability for all current Rolls-Royce Trent engines. Trent 500 (Airbus A340), Trent 700 (Airbus A330), Trent 800 (Boeing 777), Trent 900 (Airbus A380), Trent 1000 (Boeing 787 Dreamliner™) and Trent XWB (Airbus A350).
Supporting this is an extensive component repair shop carrying out 80% of repairs in-house, with centres of excellence for Fan blades, Front Combustion Liners, Nozzle Guide Vanes, Compressor Blades and Vanes.
With its vision of ‘Servicing the Best by the Best’ SAESL attributes its growth to two core strengths; firstly the success of both parent companies Rolls-Royce and its Trent fleet and SIA Engineering Companies' global reputation; and secondly the highly motivated and innovative SAESL workforce.
The recent completion of its new extra large test bed with capacity to test 300 engines per year, fan diameters up to 140” and thrusts of 150k lbs. SAESL completed a fourth expansion phase in 2015 with a new 9000sqm building increasing capacity to 350 engines per year.
In 2016 we merged our sister company IECO (International Engine Component Overhaul) with its 200 talented component repair specialists and a 5000sqm facility located in Loyang has strengthen our component repair offerings and capability which will support better engine turn times.
