Senior Database Administrator (MSSQL/SYBASE)

• Installs and maintains databases on servers

• Produces schema generation of physical databases on servers

• Defines, implements and manages tools for monitoring the databases

• Tunes performances of databases

• Defines and implements databases backup/restore strategies

• Monitors and maintains databases including replication processes to ensure high availability

• Gets know-how from the IT suppliers’ Database Administrators:

• By reviewing database designs

• By identifying and resolving database design errors

• By participating in data modelling sessions

• Helps the Test Teams in database topics

• Works closely with the Windows Specialists to define and implement fail-over solutions for databases

• Identifies and reports to the Technical Services and IT Security Manager those problems that are likely to affect the project

 

• Minimum 5 years of previous experience in SQL / MYSQL database administration

• Experience in design of physical database schema and in data modelling

• Experience in database design tools

• Good sense of service, communications and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a multi-cultural and international environment

• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
