Position Purpose

The candidate will work within the Execution Division and reports to Division Heads.

He / She Will

  • Ensure and support that the BNP standards are applied
  • Support continuous improvement of the development practices within the chapter
  • Be responsible for the Development Chapter members
  • Mentor and coach Development Chapter members (Chapter meeting, 1 on 1, skill matrix, etc)
  • Be responsible for the performance review, leave approval and ad-hoc management decision for the Development Chapter members
  • Participate to the Execution Division recruitment process for the Development Chapter
  • Establish and follow development and career plan for the Chapter members
  • Gather impediments for staff to perform their work and follow-up actions and escalate if needed
  • Gives and transmit norms and standard and have the authority to make it respected
  • Participate to onboard and train new comers
  • Ensure top down / bottom up communication
  • Assists Division Heads in estimating resource needs and schedules according to upcoming projects
  • Work or help in projects for squads if required
Technical & Behavioral Competencies

The Applications To Be Supported Are

  • Teleinvest Predator, which is a trading application
  • An in house development application allowing the interfaces between our back end system and the execution system
  • Bloomberg TSOX
  • A new target execution application which is under assessment and whose deployment will be part of “Tiger” transformation project.
Team To Be Managed

4 to 8 developers with the following development skills Java 8 and above, Spring (Core, Security, MVC), Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, REST API, Unit Test

Skills & Experience

Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 8+ years of overall experience as software engineer
  • 3+ years in banking industry
  • 2+ years in managing team of developers
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with various Java / Web technologies and frameworks: Java 8 and above, Spring (Core, Security, MVC), Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, REST API, Unit Test

  • General banking knowledge and work experience in banking industry
  • Experience with CI/CD, Bitbucket, Maven, DevOps and Agile
  • Strong knowledge about design patterns and development principles
  • Hands-on experience on API related activities: requirement analysis, design, resource-based API modeling, micro-services architecture
  • Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge of automated testing (TDD, BDD)
  • Good attitude, proactive and work well together in a team
