Our Singapore office seeks an experienced Dev Ops Engineer to handle Singapore hours technical operations. We operate a large-scale data environment with petabytes of financial markets and analytics data processed in real time. This is an opportunity to work within a team of professionals with deep experience in financial markets, computer science and data science, and with a keen interest in discovering new sources of information in financial markets.

Our Singapore office works closely with our offices in the United States and United Kingdom in a 24-hour “follow-the-sun” fashion to monitor application health and performance; troubleshoot operational issues; respond to technical customer support inquiries; document applications and APIs, configure and deploy new application releases; and onboard new customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operational activities in the Singapore time zone to ensure production systems are fully operational. This includes:
    • Real-time application health checks.
    • Application performance monitoring.
    • 1st and 2nd level troubleshooting for application-related issues.
    • Assisting Infrastructure team on 2nd level troubleshooting for FTP services, databases, network, hardware etc.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level Technical Application and Data Analysis Support to customers
  • Work closely with the global teams including client services, infrastructure and software engineering to ensure excellent delivery of services
  • Work closely with the global teams on support tool development, bug fixes, and application development.
  • Manage and maintain the release of production changes.
  • Maintain deployment runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
  • Maintain application and API documentation.
  • Contribute to improvements to both internal and client facing collateral.
Requirements

  • Strong skills navigating in a Linux environment, including shell scripting.
  • Experience with SQL databases, e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, DB2; experience identifying and resolving deadlocks and query bottlenecks; ability to write queries and stored procedures
  • Experience in a technical development or operational role in financial markets.
  • Bachelors in STEM related field required
  • Experience programming in at least one of the following languages: Java, Perl, C/C++, C#, Python,PHP, JavaScript, Python, Ruby.
  • Debugging-level knowledge of Java or C/C++ is a strong positive.
  • Technical working knowledge of market data and market data feeds.
  • Working knowledge of networks and network protocols, e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DNS, especially at the OS level.
  • Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting at the OS level, e.g., ping, traceroute, nslookup, telnet, mdump, ifconfig.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving instincts.
  • Familiar with software development and change management best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills are paramount.
  • Experience working in a diverse, team-focused environment.
  • Ability to work in a small team with limited access to US/UK time zones.
