Job Description

As our Head of Security and Technology Risk, you will be leading a global operational and technology risk team along with our journey. You are expected to drive and oversee the operational and technology risk management framework in the Group. You are required to conduct operational and technology risk assessments, address operational and technology risk issues, give recommendations and support on remediation activities. You will also be the trusted advisor to provide expert advice to our board of directors and senior management on how operational and technology risks are managed throughout all business units.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the setup of operational and technology risk management framework including program, policies, procedures and internal controls to reduce operational and technology risk, which are in line with the policies of the group and the regulatory framework of the financial industries in Asia-pacific and Europe regions including but not limited to MAS TRM Guideline and MFSA Guidance Notes on Cybersecurity
  • Oversee the establishment of Technology Risk Management function in Singapore region
  • Facilitate and coordinate regular operational and technology risk self-assessment carried out by business functions. Assess the current risk control structures, address any weaknesses and produce reports to the board and senior management
  • Conduct independent risk assessment, scenario analysis and internal control audit to address potential risks, offer risk assurance to the board and senior management and discover opportunity to improve business operations
  • Advise the board and senior management on any operational risks they encounter and the suggested course of action to address these risks
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicators and assurance tools to determine their effectiveness and for ongoing improvement
  • Manage internal and external loss event reporting including follow up on and ensure effective mitigation of operational loss logged by the business and investigation of root causes
  • Possess leadership presence to promote operational risk culture, train and motivate staff to adopt new operational risk management practices
  • Report suspicious activity. Escalate and report the operational risk issues to the senior management and the board
  • Handle operational risk related projects and work closely with other risk functions globally
  • Ensure the organization’s compliance is with all relevant laws, regulations and guidelines from a risk management perspective
  • Builds strong relationships and interacts with the board and senior management
  • Promote collaboration among departments to address operational risks at enterprise level

Skills & experiences

  • Hands-on experience in Operational or Technology Risk Management including Information Security, Data Privacy, IT Audit, or Third-party Risk related roles is required
  • Experience in Operational Risk Management including Business Continuity, Internal Audit, Risk Management or Financial Crime related roles will be an advantage
  • Legal background with knowledge of operational risk, technology risk, cybersecurity and data privacy regulations are strongly preferred
  • Prefer experience with one or more of the following: Operational or technology risk management governance, RCSA, Loss data analysis, Scenario analysis, KRIs and Risk Appetite
  • Compliance experience/knowledge in the field of financial regulations of the America, APAC and the EU Region will be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience on blockchain and cryptocurrency market is highly preferred
  • Holders of operational risk and/or technology risk related certifications/qualifications will be an advantage (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCSP, CIPP, CIPM, etc)
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in a fast paced working environment, especially from a Fintech start-up environment preferred

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Spoken and written Chinese is an advantage. Spoken and written Cantonese is strongly preferred for better communication with headquarters
