About The Role & Team

As an essential member of GoodData’s Sales team, you will be the technical champion for our prospects and customers. You will work closely to understand their needs and show how GoodData can add value to their data workflows. You will partner closely with your business peers to gain new customers, develop relationships, and nurture business growth.

You must have a passion to actively participate in taking the next generation of Business Intelligence and help GoodData become a thought leader for Composable Data and Analytics. This means having a high sense of urgency, a go-getter mindset, and always keeping up with changing trends in the market.

During your journey, you will have the opportunity to expand your breadth and depth of knowledge in data discovery and analysis. You’ll help shape our product roadmap based on the needs and requirements of the customers that are part of your territory.

  • Ensure technical win for all sales cycles in your territory.
  • Effectively understand customers' strategic goals and articulate GoodData’s ability to exceed these goals.
  • Effectively understand customers' challenges and translate them into a long-term solution architecture.
  • Effectively articulate GoodData’s value proposition and customers ROI.
  • Assist in opportunity qualification, demonstrations, technical white-board sessions, Proof of Concept presentations (POC), RFP responses & business justification in a technical pre-sales capacity.
  • Ensure the success of customer POCs through effective management of success criteria, planning, and technical execution.
  • Present GoodData’s technical and strategic vision to a wide variety of audiences ranging from C-suite executives to technical evaluators.
  • Keep current on GoodData product releases and new features while maintaining knowledge of the broader technology landscape and developments related to the GoodData platform.
  • Be the voice of the customer for Product and Engineering teams by sharing product feedback and new requirements captured from the field.
  • Be available for travel 40% of the time, post-COVID19.

About You
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role.
  • Hands-on professional or personal experience manipulating different kinds of datasets (e.g., SQL, Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools for e.g Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or Microstrategy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills specifically with delivering technical presentations, executive presentations, whiteboard sessions, or live demonstrations.
  • Experience responding to functional and technical elements of RFPs.
  • Experience with advanced data modeling as well as numerical analysis.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools.
  • Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling events.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to work with customers on-site, up to 40% travel.
It is nice if you have
  • Software development experience with C/C++ or Java.
  • Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash.
  • Experience with Embedded Business Intelligence.
  • Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing.
  • Experience and understanding of large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, etc.).
  • Experience implementing ETL pipelines.
  • Experience using AWS services such as S3, Kinesis, Elastic MapReduce, Data pipeline.
  • Experience selling enterprise SaaS software.
  • Experience deploying containerized software through Kubernetes or Docker.
