Job Description


Google will be prioritizing applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore, and do not require Google's sponsorship of a visa.

Due to the current health crisis related to COVID-19 and the escalating visa/travel restrictions in place, we're currently unable to extend offers to anyone who cannot work from Singapore due to lockdown visa/travel restrictions, or other restrictive measures until further notice. Consequently, we will be prioritizing candidates who can start in this location by set date as expected. We're keeping the situation under review and would adjust our position should the restrictive measures be removed later on.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in cloud computing in the Financial Services Industry sector.
  • Experience with traditional Analytic Warehouse solutions including Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, Oracle, SQL-Server and "Big Data" technologies.
  • Experience in implementing analytics systems architecture.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or other technical field.
  • Experience in technical sales or professional consulting in the fields of cloud computing, data, information lifecycle management.
  • Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing and ETL workflows solutions (Informatica, Talend, Alooma, SAP, Data Services) including architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience in writing code in a common development language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, Scala, R or Go.

As Customer Engineer, you will work with the Sales team to introduce Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the potential of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, and problem-solve any potential technical roadblocks.

Responsibilities
  • Inspire customers and peers to solve difficult problems with innovative and novel solutions, leveraging an excellent set of technical competences.
  • Manage the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers and RFI response documents.
  • Support local Sales teams in pursuit of key business opportunities, engaging customers to address aspects of the data lifecycle.
