Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with or debugging code using Java, C, C++, .NET, Python, Shell, Perl, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Kubernetes infrastructure
- Have Government G50 CAT-1 Security Clearance with industry experience working in Government, dealing with sensitive/classified workloads.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with any of the following IaaS solutions: system virtualization, on-premise and/or hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity and security system, cloud monitoring and logging, and/or local and cloud storage.
- Experience with any of the following cloud storage solutions: SQL database administration, Google App Engine, open source software communities, cloud networking solutions, and/or distributed computing technology.
- Understand networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing, etc.).
- Knowledge of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, etc.).
- Excellent customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.

The Hybrid Cloud Services team is builds offering for Google Cloud customers that require more than just break/fix support. We assist with the entire hardware/software lifecycle, including planning, deployment, maintenance, upgrading, monitoring, and capacity planning. Our services are especially crucial for hybrid customer engagements where Google Cloud is delivering and maintaining infrastructure inside the customer’s on-premises environment. These deployments can incorporate requirements such as disconnected mode, security clearance, sovereign and geographical constraints.
In this role, you will be part of a global team that provides support to help customers seamlessly operate their hybrid on-premises Google Cloud infrastructure. When customers cannot resolve issues themselves, your job will be to ensure that we have the necessary tools and processes to resolve the issue.
You will troubleshoot technical problems for customers with a mix of debugging, networking, system administration, updating documentation, and when needed, coding/scripting.

Responsibilities
- Manage the customer’s problem through effective diagnosis, resolution, or implementation of new investigation tools to increase productivity for customer issues on Google Cloud Platform products.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Google's product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining the root cause for customer reported issues, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
- Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
- Drive the success of Google Cloud by understanding and advocating for our customers’ issues.
- Work as part of a team of engineers/consultants that globally ensure 24-hour customer support, this will include a need to sometimes work non-standard work hours, shifts, or a rotation on weekend work.
