About The Job
The Media Industry is changing and our team is focused on building the future for YouTube. As a TV and Media Partner Engineer, you will be responsible for YouTube’s technical integrations and workflows with media companies.
In this role, you will be responsible for enabling the integrations between some of the biggest media companies in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, their content offerings, and the YouTube platform. You will understand the industry’s standards and common practices in APAC on topics like Video on Demand (VOD) delivery and Live Signal acquisition, designing a cross-functional strategy to scale the TV and Media Operations in APAC, and informing the product teams of the local opportunities.
You will be instrumental in taking new initiatives from conception to successful deployment, including through designing and implementing short-term technology solutions to bridge gaps for partners, and commercializing new solutions for the long-term.
At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
Responsibilities
- Identify similarities and differences of the APAC markets in terms of content delivery and packaging, communicate with the business, product, and engineering team, and establish the roadmap and strategy for supporting partner onboarding.
- Identify, drive, and optimize various operational workflows and tools (i.e., web-based and command line scripts) between partners (both external content partners and internal operations) and YouTube.
- Improve operations by developing automation scripts and dashboards. Improve product feature offerings by providing feedback to internal cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Engineering.
- Guarantee the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing necessary documentation and technical guidance.
- Review technical terms of partner contracts to ensure that YouTube can deliver what is committed based on our product features.
