Job Description

You play a key role in our mission to treat patients and fight cancer!

As Field Software and System Engineer, you are responsible for installation, calibration and commissioning activities on the Proton Therapy site, with a specific focus on administration of the IT infrastructure, software testing, debugging, configuration and upgrades.

You work in a team of approximately 9 people, and you report to the Site Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Field Software and System Engineer, you are responsible for:

During the installation phase (+/- 12 months)

  • Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the deployment of the software
  • Performing the IT infrastructure and the software calibration following procedures
  • Testing and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing
  • Critically analyzing data to diagnose potential technical problems
  • Collaborating intensively during the installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of the equipment
  • Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services
Profile You Have

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in engineering (preferably in Computer Sciences or Electronics) or an equivalent experience
  • Programming experience, preferably with knowledge of C, C++, UNIX and Java
  • A good knowledge of Linux/Windows and scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • A basic knowledge of SQL
  • An awareness of version control systems and configuration management
  • Experience in network administration
  • Experience in electronics, electrical or control systems troubleshooting would be an advantage
