- Work as part of Agile scrum teams to design, implement, and test the instrument control software that powers our industry-leading DNA sequencing and genotyping devices
- Develop, review and execute both manual and automated software tests
- Investigate and analyze software defects
- Define, develop and document tests to uncover defects and improve product quality
- Design and code test scripts, deploying to build pipeline, monitoring results
- Plan and build effective test environments with useful data
- Thoroughly document and track issues which surface during the testing process
- Participate in all aspects of our agile development process, from sprint planning to daily scrum meetings and sprint demos
- Participate in shared learning and mentoring with other team members

Required Educational Background
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Bioengineering or engineering related area
Desired Profile
- At least 3 years' experience in testing and supporting software for mechanical instrumentation
- At least 3 years’ experience working in Software Quality Assurance or other areas of the SDLC to test Windows-based and/or Linux-based GUI systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Visual Studio, Jira (or other test/defect management tool), Agile (Scrum) process
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience writing codes in at least one modern scripting language (like Python) to implement automated testing
- Experience with traditional, manual Quality Assurance approaches
- Knowledge of multiple test methods: exploratory, unit, acceptance, functional, systems, integration and more
- Understanding of modern build systems and release management concepts
- A track record that includes being part of a team which completed and shipped successful products
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Must thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience in participating in cross-organizational or inter-company collaboration
- Experience in developing instrument software / hardware integration is a plus
- Experience in biotech and bioinformatics is a plus
- Experience in Linux Operating System is a plus
- Experience in image processing is a plus
