Job Description

The Principal Engineer - Hybrid Cloud will be responsible for the design, configuration, and engineering of solutions leveraging cloud services and requires the specialized knowledge and skills, including IaC/development, DevOps/CICD, Container/Kubernetes, Cloud observability. Primary responsibilities include services engineering/design, build automation capabilities, technology evaluation & selection, lead innovation initiatives, infrastructure automation development. This role requires a combination of business process, technology expertise, and a strong knowledge of software development/engineering. This role will report directly to Asia Cloud engineering Director.


  • Lead the strategy and development of highly leverageable capabilities in hybrid cloud.
  • Promote cultural adoption of software defined and automation across our organization as well as working with our partners.
  • Lead solution design, architecture, services development and engineering on major programs.
  • Partner with engineering, development, Operation and business teams to ease the configuration and deployment of new services
  • Investigate emerging technologies, new engineering techniques, and leverage opportunities that drive continuous improvement of the service and its use in solutions.
  • Develop and operate the application release management workflows, by building custom integrations and tooling with existing CI/CD products.
  • Design, construct, and maintain CI / CD automations to test, build, and deploy software.
  • Mentor individuals, and lead the organization in adoption of “software defined” thinking for organization’s deliverables.
  • Develop and document technical requirements and solutions
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Interact with cross functional teams to ensure complete delivery of solutions.
  • Infrstructure/Application/Solution/Service Architecture.
  • Collaborate and Integrate with engineering services and platforms.

  • The Principal Engineer must have 5 years above experience on multi-cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • The Principal Engineer must understand the entire suite of services and platforms to maximize and leverage potential of the services, know how to combine services, and also know how to identify when the service should be used in solutions.
  • The Principal Engineer must also understand the service lifecycle and plan for and execute that lifecycle (CI/CD with Jenkins ,Git, services and technical debt control).
  • Collaboration externally with the regional service team and internally with the peer service engineer teams is a critical job component. In addition this person must also develop technical understanding of all the other services to build out a bench and fall back for workload spikes and backing up talent during work absences.
  • The Principal Engineer must also have a strong understanding of software development and agile/waterfall techniques so that he/she can influence and mentor junior engineers working on solution delivery.
  • The Principal Engineer must have a strong background in SDLC technique (agile and waterfall), work estimation, and execution to facilitate scope estimation.
  • The Principal Engineer must have hands-on in the latest cloud tech like Kubernetes, Docker/Containers, infrastructure as code (terraform), serverless architecture, microservices.
  • The Principal Engineer need have Practical programming language experience with Python, Go, Ruby, Node.JS, etc .

  • Strong understanding of SDLC tools including git and/or svn
  • Understanding of IaC, DevOps/CICD, cloud observability, AI/ML technologies and platforms
  • Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to management effectively
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Must be able to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with others with little supervision
  • Must be able to influence others
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Must be results driven, a quick learner, and a self-starter.
  • 4-5 years of related work experience in large enterprises preferred
