Job Description

The Red Hat Asia Pacific (APAC) Solutions Technology Practice team is looking for a Senior Architect to join our Hybrid Cloud Practice. In this role, you will specialize in the design and implementation of automated container platforms, hybrid-cloud infrastructure, and cloud-ready architectures. You’ll help our customers migrate from traditional infrastructures toward Kubernetes and a rich hybrid-cloud infrastructure. You will learn to implement modern cloud infrastructure and delivery workflows on large-scale public and private clouds using Red Hat technologies. Your ability to learn new technologies quickly is essential. As a Senior Architect, you’ll be responsible for coaching teams and facilitating the design and technical delivery of our solutions and practice. As you do so, you’ll create enthusiasm for building great solutions using principles of open source and agile culture. You should ideally be a senior, directly involved cloud architect with the passion for coaching teams, design, communication, and delivering complex solutions. This position is a Singapore or remote based position with future weekly travel to customer sites and can be located anywhere in APAC within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a country where they are eligible to work and where Red Hat is registered to do business.

  • Present vision, strategy, technology, and roadmaps to executives, technical management, engineers, and operators
  • Remain an active implementer through code, as this might be required during our Lab engagements, and maintain deep direct technical knowledge of hybrid-cloud infrastructure, architectures, and solutions
  • Lead and support presales and delivery field teams during workshops, proofs of concepts, pilots, and production deployments
  • Actively contribute to and guide creation of reference architectures, design considerations, knowledge bases, and Open Practice Library (OPL)
  • Contribute to the Red Hat Consulting team by participating in internal initiatives, creating consulting whitepapers, presenting at online and in person events, and updating the knowledge base
  • Assist in the development of standard reusable consulting practice delivery guides and service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates
  • Travel in the future to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunication, and institutional customers, in line with Red Hat's COVID guidelines

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of infrastructure and or software architecture experience; 4+ of those years specifically focused on cloud-ready application design and deployment
  • Experience designing and leading complex, large-scale implementations of cloud and infrastructure solutions and migrations in challenging environments
  • Broad and deep experience across any of the following technologies: Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Virtualization, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Terraform, and Ansible
  • Familiarity with DevOps and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices and how they can be applied to cloud and infrastructure solutions
  • Proficiency in Linux, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Applied knowledge of working with agile, scrum, and DevOps teams
  • Solid, creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to study on your own, learn quickly, and put new knowledge into practice
  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with teams spread out across multiple departments and geographies
