The Cloud Consultant Developer will help build out the applications and cloud business of Telstra Purple across Asia. Both the Cloud and Applications pillar are key to the success of Telstra Purple's vision both globally and here in Asia. We have a growth target and this role is vital in helping the BD bring-in the work and be across delivery from a technical leadership standpoint.
Key Accountabilities
General
- Consultant across: Orchestration (Kubernetes), Containerization (Docker), DevSecOps
- Re-architecture of application (Serverless, Micro-services)
- Up-to-date with the latest trends
- Strong application development background to architect application migrations and development on cloud platforms
- Pre-Sales
- Sales and target driven, help with technical proposals, work closely with Lead/Senior consultant to meet and exceed sales target.
- Help bring together proposals and SOW
- Great communication skills with technical and business stakeholders to quickly understand the problems from customer and able to drive solutions for customers
- Solution design skills in cloud and application space and presentation skills
- Estimate and outline the solution proposals, and articulate the application and infrastructure design rationale
- Hands-on skills for implementing the proposed solutions and even small PoCs to prove the concept
- Delivery
- Build out the technical design, through Discovery, Define and Deliver
- Work with teams to understand application infrastructure needs and to ensure these are developed and maintained during the life of the application
- Documents infrastructure and application architecture and ensure it is up to date.
- Help drive infrastructure as code using deployment automation tools, such as terraform.
- Have experience in implementing enterprise application using both IaaS, PaaS (platform services) like web app, Azure SQL, event hubs, stream analytics, document DB etc.
- Familiar with serverless technologies like Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions etc.
- Build application containers (Docker, Docker-Compose)
- Knowledge in container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes
- Knowledge in CI/CD for both IaaS, PaaS and container-based hosting environments
- Coding/scripting (Bash, JavaScript, JSON, Yaml, etc.)
- Good knowledge of security fundamentals, including encryption, certificates, etc.
- Detailed knowledge of systems infrastructure, networking, monitoring and supporting tooling.
- Certifications with Azure will be highly regarded.

Qualifications / Experiences
Essential
The ideal candidate will have highly developed skills and experience in customer management, development, enterprise consulting and development solutions, including:
- Up to date certifications on one or more relevant technologies is a must
- Presenting solutions to clients
- Building key relationships within business
- Experience in designing/delivery of key development solutions into Azure or AWS
- Experience in designing/delivery of key development solutions to on premise/hybrid systems
- Experience in delivery of web front end development stacks such as HTML and JavaScript and/or experience in delivery of mobile development stacks
- Exposure to multiple agile methodologies, best practices and development technologies
- Exposure to classic waterfall methodologies
- Ability to define and understand customer problems
- Ability to collaborate and work part of a larger team
- Good communication skills, high level of technical expertise and extremely passionate about technology
- Minimum 3 years' experience with relevant technologies
Highly Desirable
- Azure certifications in DevOps and Solution Architecture
