We’re looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Singapore. You will be working with a group of highly skilled engineers to develop, lead cloud-based development, and test environments for Zendesk Products. We create deployments that mimic our production environments for development, testing, and experimentation. Development teams throughout Zendesk rely on us to streamline the shipping of code to production.

What You Get To Do Every Day

  • Write prototype and production-grade code to build on-demand environments containing all the products and services in the Zendesk family.
  • Developing a process and laying down standards for building hundreds if not thousands of Zendesk environments per day in a reliable fashion.
  • Provide thought leadership, technical direction, and architectural input into product vision and roadmap development.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to transform visions & roadmaps into reality.
  • You will team up with our customers (other fellow developers) to understand their requirements when onboarding new teams and products with different functional requirements.
  • Develop cutting-edge tools to improve the productivity of more than 1000+ developers in Zendesk.
  • Build and Improve the next generation of continuous integration and continuous delivery system
  • Find opportunities for improvement by challenging the status quo and suggesting alternative and creative solutions.

What you bring to the role:

  • Ability to transform visions & roadmaps into reality.
  • You love problem-solving. Investigating issues and discovering the appropriate solution drives you.
  • Expert understanding of Kubernetes, or orchestrating Docker containers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert knowledge in and strong hands-on experience with application configuration, infrastructure, automation, and operations.
  • Tactics and strategies for engineering productivity internal products to highly technical users in a large multi-product SaaS organization.
  • Experience with infrastructure management tools (Chef, Terraform).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
  • Ability to collaborate with remote teams.

In this role, you’ll support our ASEAN sales teams, working with your aligned Account Execs on our commercial opportunities in the region.

As a Senior Solutions Consultant, your mission is to ensure product selection. As such, you will be curious, creative thinkers and problem solvers who are domain experts, technically astute and commercially focused.

You’ll be responsible for all technical, solution, and competitive aspects of the Zendesk sales cycle. You must be both sales focused and technically savvy. You'll already be successful selling to Mid-Market organisations and convincing C and director level executives of the technical merits of the software solution.

Working in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, you’ll be the technical bridge between our Account Executives and their prospects. This will involve you taking ownership of the prime technical relationship with our prospects to drive customer satisfaction by proactively managing and delivering technical information to our customers both onsite, online, and over the phone.

Your Background

  • You have strong experience of working with Mid-Market customers in a client-facing commercial role, where you provide creative, outside-the-box solutions to business challenges.
  • You have excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasion, presentation and writing skills.
  • You have a passion for telling engaging stories that both demonstrate our product’s value and bring our solution to life.
  • You have experience of Enterprise SaaS applications, solution architectures, and their supporting technologies.
  • You are agile, with a love of thinking on your feet and a knack of steering conversations involving a range of different stakeholders, from Agents to the C-Suite.
  • You have run sales cycles from RFI and RFPs through to managing pilots and proof-of-concepts.
  • You love working in a dynamic environment where flexibility and agility are essential.

  • You have expertise in detailed discovery and value-based solution selling and Superior solution scoping abilities
  • Experience in web/ scripting technologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SaaS applications
Even Better

  • Experience in customer service, customer contact centers, customer service software, ITSM, data warehousing, business intelligence.
  • Strong commercial experience selling software to Mid-Market/Enterprise customers
  • Proficient in Chinese & English for verbal and written communication, or any Business-level ASEAN language
